El Rancho Camelot is the neighborhood that Over the Hedge takes place in.
General Information[]
- El Rancho Camelot is 54 acres in size.
- They also have a news paper called the El Rancho Camelot Observer.
- The President of the Home Owner's association was Gladys Sharp. Following her arrest, it is unknown who will replace her.
- El Ranch Camelot is also the home to the Trail Guide Gals.
- Due to the Depelter Turbo being illegal in the state that El Rancho Camelot resides, it is confirmed that the city does not take place in Texas as it is the only state that doesn't prohibit the machine.
- Based on the scene of the beacon of light that the Turbo emits when it destroys the satellite, it originates below Lake Michigan. Thus El Rancho Camelot is either in Illinois or Indiana.
Rules and Regulations[]
On the now-defunct Over the Hedge website, a set of rules and regulations could be found. They are as follows:
- Lawn grass can be no more than two inches thick.
- Four-legged creatures must be kept on a leash at all times.
- Streets must be kept clear by parking all vehicles in your driveway.
- Satellite dishes and TV antennae must be kept out of view.
- Barbequing is allowed only on weekends.
- Carpeting is mandatory on all hardwood floors to reduce sound transmission.
- Noise generated by musical instruments or stereos must be kept below 10 decibels.
- All colorful plants or flowers must be approved by the Homeowners association before being planted.
- Trashcans must be placed on the left side of the driveway on every second Friday.
- The Homeowners Association must first approve any window coverings or shades that can be seen from the street.

- El Rancho means "the ranch" in Spanish.
- Translating "El Rancho Calmelot" would come out as "The Camelot Ranch" in Spanish.
- "Camelot" is the name of King Arthur's kingdom and castle in Arthurian myth.
- The billboard says "Your getaway to the good life.
- It was once a forest as Verne stated "half of the forest" is gone after finding out it was built while he and his friends were hibernating.
